A Coalport plate of the early 1820s with the standard double-barred scrolls and festoons in low relief, although the size (213mm diameter) is smaller than the standard dessert plate.  The decoration is unusual too and is almost certainly by an independent decorator; the border is a curious crushed strawberry or deep pink colour and the scene is noted on the reverse."  from Coalport 1795-1926, Michael Messenger, 1995, p 174, plate 123 for a similar plate to this example of Melrose Abbey.
